i-pod dock with speakers

I got a refurbished one on ebay for 250$, and boy each and every word in that link is true esp the remote.

Does this work with newer iPod touch/nano or iPhone? They seem to have made the interface similar to iPod classic.

I have owned several docks. I still use two of Apple's HiFi docks (launched by Steve Jobs with much fanfare a few years ago) that is still going strong. But the best, based on what I have researched is B&W's Zeppelin.

Can this dock really double as a speakers for TV? Is this good or am i better off buying a HT with an ipod dock?

I recently bought this for my wife. It comes around $90.00. Good value for the money and has wireless speakers. Sells on Amazon.com
