WTVQ Four Kentucky fair grounds are receiving generous grants thanks to a new program by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.The State Aid to Local Agricultural Fairs Program is giving $300,000 for new construction projects to the fair grounds.The amount and stanley cup becher the recipient of each grant includes: $100,000 to the Russell County Fair for a new building, $93,750 to the Greenup County Fair for a new livestock pavilion, $62,950 to the Jessamine County Fair for a new restroom facility and $43,300 to the Lawrence County Fair for a new livestock barn/arena.The department says each grant will fund 75 percent of the total cost of the project, with the local fair board matching the other 25 percent.
