Ooma international bundle, 70 countries, 500 minutes, $4.99

Post by P_Jani »

I heard that Ooma basic charges Government taxes.

May be for the people who purhased later. ( 9 to 11 dollars per year (?) )
I am using for last 2 years , have one ooma (original) and one ooma Telo. ( have basic services for both )
Have paid nothing ( also no gvt. taxes ) and just confirmed that will not be any charges / Govt. taxes or 911 fees in future too.

Ooma premier ofcourse has monthly fees.
Yess, it does.
But, to take that advantage of using two lines, I rather bought another ooma Telo ( used ) from e-bay ( as one time expnese forever ) , I need no premier service.
Just pay one time, the initial buying cost and free from all thereafter !

This landscape is fast changing and Google also has entered this market. Who knows, they may introduce a cheap Google phone.

Yup, I read that too.
Key is, just buy it initially when they have special life long introductory offers, and when they promise of not future charges added, if you bought it before certain date.

Does Ooma have the facility to forward call to cellphone if internet is down.

My friend has Vonage and he mentioned that Vonage has that facility.

Yess ooma has.
Even if you have basic service, you can give yr cell number.
Also when connection comes back, you can dial your own number and that will tell you if any message came during that period.
Moreover,...
ooma has a very well organised internet account, that keeps a clear log of which number you called ( how many min. you talked ) ,
who called you - if someone called you 3 days ago and now you don't know his number,.. just check there ( all numbers in a clean log file )
also voice mail, if someone called you during that down me, and you can retrive the voicemail message there.
