Shipping bike From USA to India

Hello,

I am in Los Angeles and I am planning moving back to Vadodara, Gujarat India.

I want to take my 2004 Honda CBR Bike with me.

Can anyone please help me with the best way of shipping it to India???

Hi Pranav,

If you are taking other household items and furniture, then shipping the motor bike in the same container will be less expensive. If shipping only the bike, you will need to get it crated, empty the tank of fuel, disconnect the battery and generally make it safe for shipping. Remember that India requires the bike to be owned for min one year by your prior to shipping. Original title and other docs are very important and required.

Thanks Yogesh for the reply. Actually I was planning to buy a bike as cheaper over here. so I think I will be end up paying duty on it if buying it now????

Hi Pranav,

If you buy the bike now, and if it does not complete the one year ownership clause, then apart from duty, you will end up paying penalties and fines. If you buy it now and ship it after one year, you should be ok.
