We are returning to India after 10 years of living here in Bay Area. I would appreciate some tips from all of those who recently moved back to delhi or still in the planning process. Some of the topics I would like to discuss are as follows :-
Best Schools for Kids (9yr old and 6 yr old)
which car to buy?
Things to take to india from here ?
Applying for Job in IT sector
Buisiness opportunities / Investment ideas etc ..
Please share your experiences and views to make our transition more smooth.

Cant say much about schools since we dont have school going kids.
However from the little knowledge that I have, DPS international should be a better choice.
Will you be living in Dwarka?
Are you familiar with driving in India, if not then go for a small or second hand big car initially to get a hang of the driving and traffic out here.
Also try coming after the hot weather is over, your settling down period will go more smoothly.

I am not returning right now but during my visits have noticed some things to make transition smoother. Don't buy used car, you never know what you are getting. Shell out extra bucks to buy automatic, there are a few, santro, i10 or 120 among others. AC is absolute must along with airbags. Initially some daily use items like paper towel, toilet rolls, etc might help but eventually you will have to get used to Indian way. Furniture is available at decent price and is not worth carrying. Electronics does have a major difference price wise, its more expensive in India. Do not carry any electricals, converting voltage is pain.
Don't know what kind of business oppurtunities you are looking for but they are abundant. Renting taxis, trucks, tractors is in huge demand. Building a marriage hall and running it is very good business. Becoming contractor/supplier for construction material is booming but competition is stiff. Infrastructure related businesses are doing very well. There are so many oppurtunities if you have capital.
