R2Iing from East vs West Coast: Which Is Easier ?

You guys are so touchy about any comment about the US that has any negatives!
Power cuts: I was comparing East Coast with California, not with India. The debate here is East Coast vs. West. In CA, there are very few thunderstorms, no hurricanes, rare strong winds, no snow or ice storms and thus a power cut is almost unheard of in CA (except during the shortage in early 2000s). However, on the East Coast, one can have 2-5 cuts a year due to falling branches, snow etc and long cuts every so often. While this isn't as bad as India, at least the idea that the power can fail comes into your head from time to time and thus prepares you a bit for India.
Heat: again, compared to CA. No CA never goes above 80-90 even inland (very rare) and SO CA rarely goes above 90 and the humidity is low. The East Coast can have days in high 90s, even 100 throughout the summer and thus is good preparation for Indian heat compared to CA.
Mosquitoes: everyone living on the East has seen flies and mosquitoes which are practically absent in CA.
R2MyOldWorld;456604Thanks for the clarification IMI. Have not lived in CA (just visited few times) so I am not in a position to comment on that. But irrespective of that, most of the things you mentioned do not prepare you for life in India, not even close whether power problems, heat or mosquitoes or honking etc. And that was the point of my post. About being touchy - not really. Just being realistic.
This week, for example, most of the DC area has lost power- many millions will remain without power for a week. That is what I meant and this happens quite often on the East Coast. People often lose power for a few hours and even days during winter snow, hurricanes and thunderstorms. Traffic lights are out everywhere as well. Temps are around 104 (40 C). I know it is an act of nature and not a power cut but nevertheless, being without power is more common on the East Coast.
