General information: LIA, retired, Telecommunications engineering (HW and SW) and Marketing background. Worked for Tellabs. Last job was director of Product Planning, Management, systems engineering for an Optical core switch. Married, two kids, one working and one in high school.

Updates (January 2010):
One child quit her job and is now full time in second year studying Law at DePaul University, Chicago. She also married in August 2009.
Second child is out of high school and a sophomore at UIC, major undeclared as of yet.
My community information which I realized was missing from my original update: I am from Sindhi community born and brought up in Bombay. I went to school in Bombay and attended Jai Hind College at Churchgate, Mumbai, also two years at SIES college at Sion, Mumbai and two years at St.Xaviers Technical Institute, Mahim, Mumbai. Did not obtain BE or BS but finished a diploma in electronics engg.
Worked at TIFR in space physics for a few months in Mumbai and designed one circuit. Migrated to USA and worked for Tellabs for 24 years in various roles starting as a technician, and then as an engineer in R&D, designed many telecommunication circuit boards, and firmware and managed a group of HW and SW engineers. Did systems engg, requirments, Business management, Marketing and my last position was in charge of about 60 to 70 people doing, product planning, systems engg, product marketing for a telecom optical switch product.
Retired at age 47 in July 2002 and now enjoy the free time. R2I club takes up quite a bit of it.
