Poor Vanguard Portfolio Analysis Tools

I find Vanguard's portfolio analysis/performance tools to be of a very poor quality. It doesn't provide much information. For e.g. if you have retirement accounts, it doesn't show cost basis, average price etc so you can time even DCAing, portfolio balancing etc. Say you have been DCAing and over a period of time the per unit share prices fluctuates. If you want to what is your average price with respect to the current prices and make some decisions based on that, It is impossible to do so. % gain/loss that they show is not current, it shows only up till end of last year.
Company like Vanguard should at least provide better tools and let investor make decisions accordingly within the balancing criterion that they have established.
Anyone has noticed the same issue as I have outlined above? If yes, are there other fund houses which offers wide range of products to choose and their tools and service is world class?
Can you export the data from Vanguard site to Excel and develop your own tools to see what you want to see?
