Nexus One from Google.

Post by VS007 »

I bought a Google Nexus One phone to be used with my prepaid SIM card.
I have IPod, Macbook Air, Apple TV, so was natural for me to buy IPhone, but then wanted to buy something different.
Second would like to give business to an alternative to Steve Jobs too.

The screen is simply amazing, much better than IPhone. The voice quality is very clear, however the speakerphone is much to be desired.
So is the camera 5MB and a token led flash.
Integrated Google Voice is cool, but still not complete. If you call from that number, the caller name does not show mine and has a 1-2 ring delay before it dials my phone.
The voice search is significan improvement and the best I have seen for, and it can recognize my commands 70% of time. Well integrated with GMail, Address, Picasa all google stuff.

The music player is substandard, but you can download number of free ones available.
One drawback compared to iPhone is lack of an app like iTunes to sync the music and items like photos, videos.
Fortunately Amazon’s doubleTwist fills that gap with UI very close to iTunes.

The only drawback of buying google phone was my search of that and buying it and Google AdSense shows me the ad of that phone to all the websites I visit including this one. Too bad they cannot figure out that the fish has already sunk in. I miss seeing different ads now.

There are atleast 10 phones release since iPhone's debut with tag as 'iphone killer', but no phone could atleast comes closer to iphone.

I don't see any phone which can beat iphone atleast for another couple of years.
