Times of India has this annoying Metro PCS Ad which is activated when one clicks on any news link. The screen is covered with a black background and the video is then played. The only option we have is to mute the volume.

Dont know about the pop-up blocker but you can block Times Of India altogether. :pI did it for 5 years.

I am trying to quit as well :)) .Anyhow, it is blocked on my office network, but at home I need to check some local news. Rediff is not that good either. Besides, I read it for entertainment value dished out by the amateur reporters.
