My niece is in CA area she is Non-IT person (Science background). She recently came across a desi company that offers QA/VB/WinRunner training (for $1000) with placement guarantee (as a contractor).

Any feed back on such offers? I am not QA person so an not sure if a science graduate can learn the stuff and job ready in few weeks, any experience will be appreciated.
Admins, please move this if the question belongs to some existing thread.

If she does not have scripting/programming skills, learning VB and WinRunner could be an issue in such a short duration.
One option is to attend some programming classes to learn programming, scripting, file systems, etc., and then go for such specializations.

Yes, she can be trained in QA and easily get placed in manual testing. I know so many people who have done this. She might get paid around $45k-50K for the first one year, after which she can easily make between 70k-80k.

OP, I too have heard this but I am personally not sure if someone with Science background can be so quickly employable in VB/QA. The problem may be to get the first job after that it may be smooth.
