Folks,

I plan to fly to India later this year with a 1 week stop-over in London. My return journey again requires me to do a brief stop in London for a couple of days before heading back to the US. My concern is whether I will be given a multiple entry visa (or at least a double entry visa) by the local UK consulate.... since we've been hearing recently about hostilities shown the UK government against the Indians. BTW, I have a GC and hopefully that helps (??) I do know that if we have a valid reason they won't normally question our intent but sometimes then can bother you for no apparent reason and I just want to get some opinion. I would appreciate if you folks could advise/ share any of your experiences on this recently. Thanks :)

I would suggest you do your visa before you leave for India and all tourist visa issued are valid for 6 months and are multiple entry visa. Further, visa should be issue from where you currently reside and it should be very easy from the US than India. In India They have opened sub-visa offices in major cities where there is a huge queue and the papers collected and sent to the respective high commissions based in Mumbai or Chennai, not sure if visas are issued in the Dehli based main office.
I have had an occassion when both my cousins who were coming from Tanzania were given a one month visa, but only cause they were young men(bachelors)and some times they are iffy about them, especially with low qualifications.
But trust me they are very calm about tourist visas these days as most of the people who were coming here and claiming asylum, refugee status,getting married etc etc cannot do so anymore. The law has become extremely tight since Uk's borders opened to the EEC , because of this tight policy tourist and study visa's have become very easy to get and they are no longer as strict as they use to be.
