OCI --More than 180 days stay

Hi,
Just in ' in to ' the country.At immigration clearence(arrival) they hitning like registering with FRRO.I mentioned that I am an OCI and believe no need to.
(As far as I am aware it is not applicable to OCI and he may be wrong but just checking whether there are any recent changes(surprises)??)

OCI/PIO do not need to register with FRRO. Only visa holders intending to stay beyond 180 days need to register within 15 days or arrival.
