Hi all...

Need your advice and help...

We're relocating to Noida in a couple of months (from UK). We've never lived in Noida (or Delhi for that matter), hence reaching out for some much needed help. We will need to set up home from scratch.. i.e. buy appliances and furniture. Are there any retail/departmental stores in Noida (or somewhere close by) where we might find appliances (washing machine, refrigerator, A/C, mixer, etc) and furniture (bedroom, living room, etc) all under one roof?

Also, where in Delhi-NCR can one buy bespoke furniture from? You know... the local,unbranded stuff - wardrobes, sofas, etc - those that carpenters can make for you to order?

I may be wrong, but I have heard that there is some street (in Delhi/outskirts) where you can buy local furniture at pretty reasonable prices?

Since we will be renting an apartment, we're not looking at splurging on setting it up immediately. Just need to make it livable, and soon, since we have a 2 month old baby to take care of too!

Any assistance that you can offer by way of advice, suggestions, opinion will be much appreciated.

I don't know much about Noida but in Delhi, Panchkuian Road, near Connaught Place is a good area for buying furniture. If you leave Connaught Place on this road and travel towards Jhandewalan (about 1.5 km), you will run into many small and large stores that sell furniture.[h=1][/h]

There are several stores in Sector 18 that sell household appliances, probably all brands. We have bought some stuff like geysers, coolers, there.

Start near the Metro station and then take a round.

There are some furniture shops in Atta market (Sunehri mkt?) and there are some workshop shops in Sector 58. Some run of the mill stuff is available by the roadside in Sector 10. Sector 10 quality will be very doubtful, I believe, not that you do not need to be careful elsewhere too.
