Phone call forwarding in USA

Is there a provider who would provide me a phone number and also forward calls to it to another phone number. I don't plan to make calls from the new number.

In other words, can I get a 408 area code number to be forwarded to a 201 area code number, and I will pay the toll charges involved in forwarding. I don't want an expensive 800 number:)

Have you looked at www.GrandCentral.com? It's a Beta product of Google. I have a number set-up for different location and have set this # to be routed to my current #.

Your best bet is to log-in out there and reserve a # (your choice of area code) and pray that Google issues you one shortly.
