UK Visitor Visa - How much time it takes to process

I am planning to visit UK on my way back to India. I have got the biometrics finger prints taken and sent the papers to UK consulate at Chicago for 6 months visitor visa. My question is how much time does it take to process? any experience? I need to book my tickets based on this info.

We got ours from the British Consulate in LA in about a weeks time.

We were in a bit of a rush as well and had to call the customer care/help desk (A service charge was levied, btw).

I got mine from LA Consulate too. It took only 2 days. The first day, i filed the application online. I was given an interview date the next day. Went there, showed my originals (don't remember if i was fingerprinted or not) and got the visa in the evening.

Wow.... I never thought it would be this fast. I sent my papers to UK Chicago consulate on Friday evening, got an email confirmation of receipt on Monday, and Tuesday I got email confirmation of visa approval. This is really fast.. I like it... and I want more of it at Chennai.

Hi all I'm a UK guy. Having had a rough divorce from a UK woman I'm now dating a beautiful Ukranain she has a 5 year old son from her first marriage. I've read all the official UK government paperwork but would like some advice on the process of moving this little family to the UK. Her ex hasn't seen his son for 4 years. She is my 5th FSU relationship and I have the experience to say they were all so much better than UK women.
