Hello,
While have been following this forum for a long time, R2I just got confirmed and in a hurry....getting a good offer in India and have to move in <2 months. Been in US 7 years, have GC and plan to retain and if possible go for USC in 2012. Income at this point ~120K/yr and savings of $200K+ in US. India salary will be $100K/yr+. Worked in India before coming to US so rupee accounts also in India ~100K.
Right now have little time to pursue a Do-it-yourself on all the financial planning- taxes, 401K etc. etc. Therefore the 100K question:
Can people please recommend a really good and yet not expensive CA, finance advisor who can hand-hold me through this? I am looking for recommendations based on real experience if possible.
Thanks you very much

"Completely free services" to clients - that is a great service and to be commended.
I was curious how do you make money, if your services to your clients are completely free - care to comment?

I would be worried about a free service (including "free" investment advice from most bank's HNI relationship managers & wealth advisers)!
There is always the possibility that one may have to go from worrying about "return on capital" to "return of capital"!!

I make money through commissions paid by the mutual fund companies. So, there's no need to charge my clients.

No. We sell Class B (no load funds) as well.

Thanks. But, one cannot call class B as NO LOAD - they clearly have back end load if not held for a minimum period and charge money by jacking up expense ratio.
1. So with class B shares, the buyer is essentially locked into holding the share for 5 or more years and if they try to exit early, they have to pay an exit load charge - correct?
2. What is the typical expense ratio on class B shares that you recommend? Please provide one or two examples?

Fund recommendation is based on individual risk profile and so can't name funds before analysing their goals, age, risk profile etc.
Typical expense ratio is between .5 to 1.5%. If you want 0% expense, then you can invest in ETF.
The main reason why I don't charge my clients is that I don't depend on this for my living as I am a software engineering director and make very
decent money . I do this investment services more out of passion to help others than anything else. I believe I can make use of
my investment experience to help others.
