with the Us market opening up. What are some of the strategies for looking for jobs in the US?

Most jobs (contract or full time) are now offered through staffing companies. Instead of working with every headhunter out there just identify the good ones with suggestions from friends or known sources and work with them. Companies have downsized their own HR and going through the headhunters to fill most vacanices now-a-days.
