Anyone knows any good pediatrician in East Tambaram, Selaiyur, Chitlapakkam area? I have moved recently from US with 3 yr old boy & 6 months daughter, want to set good pediatrician in our area.

Try Dr Mukundan who also consults at Hindu Mission Hospital. Wonderful guy.

Thank you all for your inputs. I have visited Dr. Cristopher Daniel (Bethesda Hospital and Child care Centre located on Camp Road Selaiyur) few weeks back who is very close to my home but it took very long time to see him. I know it will be the same every where, but they don't have any good waiting area & facilities when you go there with tow kids. So we wanted to try out other options in this area. Based on the information so far I will try Dr Mukundan if I can get the contact details or Dr.Thayumanavan (in Chrompet) and let you know guys how that goes.
Baratham, yes we talked thru PM few months back. We have decied to put my son into LKG next year only. He wil go to Pre-KG in next few weeks and no schools decied yet for that. For LKG, we will go either Zion (CBSE) or Vivekananda (where my brothers & neighbours kids are going). Do you have anything decided for your kids?
Please share if you know any good pediatricians other than the ones we talked so far.

There are 2 doctors i trust very near my house but both are clinics and may not have the waiting area or facilities that you are looking for.One is Dr Elango (He is an MD Pead ) and has his clinic in gandhi road ( 1 km from pond and under the tamarind tree ) .But he is a strict guy but is effective no doubt. The second is Dr Vijayakumar whom I prefer and who is a young 32 yr old Mbbs but very popular in this area and is what you call as a "family physician " or a general practisioner -Unlike Dr Elango here you will need to wait for some time .There is a medical shop next to his clinic which is also in gandhi road ( called Sridevi Medicals ) the phone no of this medical shop is two-two-two-three-zero-four-eight-six.If you ring up the medical shop they give you a token no and time and you need to visit at that time - His timings are noon 12.30 to 2.30 and night from 6.30 to about 9.30.
So above 2 is recommended for general purpose visits like vaccination(Dr Elango ) or cold,cough,fever ( Dr Vijayakumar ) .But you will have many other patients too from different strata of society and so there is no exclusivity or special attention.But both of these doctors deserve the reputation that they enjoy for medicine that cares and minimalist medicine and for the concept of doctor as a social contributor.I found Dr Vijayakumar to be v good at root cause analysis or "diagnosis " .

As for school my kid also is now doing pre-kg in Apple Kids International School , Chitlapakkam.For prekg you now have many options in this area .I am also exploring good schools for lkg next year.Lets be in touch on pm to arrive at the best available school option too .
