Well.

It took about 4 weeks from the thought to return to India for us.

So obviously it was an hectic wind up here and start a new life in India (HYD).

We sold few things, gave away many and donated some.

My wife and my two children (son is in 10th grade and the daughter is in 5th grade) went back to India on the 23rd. I am hanging out here waiting for a decent job there.

Since I don't own a house/apartment, we rented one for Rs.8,000/-. The apartment unit is well furnished (entire wood work - in Hyd language - is done). We bought a 375L Samsung fridge, Samsung 1.5 Ton A/C, Iron Box, Ceiling fans for little over Rs.60,000. Telephone and DSL were installed in about 48 hours. The apartment complex has 70 units in 5 floors. That mean there are 14 units in one floor. Don't know how they are built, each unit is about 1500 sq.ft. in area.

My children started to attend the school on 28th. They both like the school and are getting adjusted to it. On the day one they both experienced something they never experienced here - my daughter's teacher hit a student with ruler and my son's teacher expelled one student from the class making him stand outside.

They are enjoying the bus to school. The school provide food - breakfast, lunch and snack. Even though we requested to excuse them for few weeks, we were insisted to follow the school's policies. So they started to eat in the school. My son is asked to join the school basket ball team on the day one (he is tall for his age, he plays basket ball well and he loves that game).

My wife is courageously handling the entire life so far.

There is a vegetable market (raitu bazar - farmers market) every Thursday nearby where they are getting fresh vegetables and fruits.

So, so far so good.

I will try updating this post as and when something new is there to share.

I strongly suggest the people in dilemma, don't think too much. Just go.

Good Luck and at the same time wish us the same.

Wow!! Rs. 8000 rent? Sweet :)

Also, can you please suggest which Internet provider you picked? getting the connection in less than 48 hours sounds very good indeed!
