my power of attorney to do custom clearance?

We are planning to r2i and i wanted to ship my stuff the end of this year. I am reading that we have to be physically present to do the custom clearance in india.
Can my power of attorney in india (my dad) do the custom clearance on behalf of us? I like to ship my stuff and like it to be delivered before we arrive in india. Is it possible for my power of attorney to do the custom clearance with out my presence in india?

also how long does it take for my shipment (boston to chennai)?

I would appreciate your help.

I cant say anything about Power of Attny...
But regarding shipping guaranteed time is minimum of 6 weeks

I would like to do the same . I want to give my father Power of attorney to do custom clearence at Chennai Port ? Did you encounter any issue ?
