My R2I plans

Started thinking about r2i earlier this year. I started applying for jobs in May 2011 the response do far has been very discouraging after spending 15 years in US we think its time to head home. Have a BE degree in Computer Sciende and 18+ years of experience, currently work for a financial institution in US. My company has a hiring freeze so planning to work for the US company from India fo a couple of months and search for jobs. Our journey so far has not been amooth at all firstly poor job hunt response secondle no schools in Delhi are willing to admit my son who currently attends 3rd grade in US. The temporary move would mean moving everything in US to storage renting the property living with my MIL for a couple of months. Having second thoughts if physically being in India whould do any good. I have been in US so long that I have a limited netwok back home and the recruiting firms don't seem very promising not sure if I made the right decision!:e
